Welcome to Orlando, Florida and Walt Disney World for the 2018 Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend, Two-Course Challenge, and Epcot Food and Wine Festival!
In this episode, we run the half marathon on Sunday of theRunDisney Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend. The course is relatively flat and takes you from Magic Kingdom parking lot to Animal Kingdom and the beautiful Pandora area then to Hollywood Studios before finishing around the World Showcase at Epcot. My cameraman narrates most of this episode because he wanted me to run "my race at my pace" for this comeback. It is a comeback because we were picked up at mile 10 of this same half marathon last year. So we had to return and finish what we started. A year later, 50 pounds lighter, and feeling good on race day, this was an emotional one for the books!
We visited theFlavors from Firebooth at the 2018 Epcot Food and Wine Festival to have their smokey and delicious offerings. The Piggy Wings are pork wings with a Korean BBQ sauce and a tangy slaw. The smell of the booth alone is worth Disney bringing it back next year. We had more from the booth because of the fantastic aroma, so stay tuned for Quick Bites with more to share!
Flavors from Firealso had an interesting bourbon beverage called the Swine Brine. Jim Beam, lemon juice, apple cider, and dijon mustard! Who thought to put all that together? A genius, that's who.
