2019 Run the Bluegrass

At the end of March, we take our first trip of 2019 outside the state of Florida to Kentucky, the land of one of our favorite beverages: bourbon! This course will challenge us with its time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes and with its hills or so we hear. But we will run past great distilleries (Buffalo Trace), see beautiful horses, and even pass Manchester Farm that appeared in Gone with the Wind! Of course, we will also bring you great food and drink offerings that you should try to celebrate your accomplishment!

2019 Tampa Beer Run

The race where it all began! We ran this race for the very first time 2-years ago and it became episode #1 of the Run eat Drink Podcast! Join us as we run the 2019 Tampa Beer Run on May 18, 2019. A not-so-traditional run in Al Lopez Park, with an amazing after-party. This run isn't about who's the fastest. This is simply about having fun, acting like your crazy self, and oh having a few beers along the course. Every .75 miles (approx), you'll be treated to a specialty beer sampling. Once you've made it through the 5K course, we'll welcome you at the after-party with your choice of a 16oz beer. We'll continue the party with music, drink, dancing, and awards. And don’t worry, even though we’ve run this race before, we’ll be bringing you NEW food and NEW drink from around our cameraman’s hometown, Tampa, Florida!

2019 RunDisney Wine And Dine Half Marathon Weekend/2-Course Challenge

We are headed back to Disney for the Wine and Dine 2-Course Challenge November 2-3, 2019. This race holds a special place in our hearts since it is the first half marathon we ever completed. The 2-Course Challenge adds a second race, the 10K, making it a fun-filled weekend. There is also a 5K and a kids race option for those of all ability levels and age groups. And of course, once we have accomplished our goal, we will explore Disney Dining and indulge in drink from around the world at the EPCOT World Showcase as part of the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival. So, looking for a reason to come to Disney? Look no further. Click the button to go to the RunDisney website and sign up! We’d love to run this race with you and get together afterward to celebrate our accomplishment WITH YOU! This remains one of our favorite races and if you have to do only one Disney race in Florida, we think this is the one to do.

In December 2019 we return to Atlanta to run the “Double G!” On Saturday December XX we will run Barb’s 5K, a brisk morning run through beautiful Piedmont Park. Afterward, we adjourn to race partner Orpheus Brewing which overlooks the park for a meet-and-greet and beer tasting. On Sunday the XX, we run the Jeff Galloway Half Marathon, a 13.1-mile course that takes runners through some of the most beautiful and historic portions of Atlanta concluding at Piedmont park where Olympian and “America’s Coach”, Jeff Galloway, greets every runner as they come across the finish line. Last year this was a PR race. We’ll see what this year has in store. One thing is for sure, it will be a fun time on the course and around town as we bring you new and delicious local food and beverages to try!

2019 Gasparilla Distance Classic Half Marathon

When we completed the Donna Half Marathon at the beginning of February 2019, we finished the first part of our Treasured Chest Challenge. The second half brought us back to the Tampa area - so much to see and do in one of our favorite Florida cities. We ran the Gasparilla Distance Classic Weekend’s Half Marathon and completed the second part of our Treasured Chest Challenge. We showed you the beautiful view along Bayshore on the course as well as some great food and drink to celebrate after accomplishing this goal. Did we mention the HUGE bling we got after running these two races in Jacksonville and Tampa? Check it out.

2019 Booby Trap Challenge at the Donna Half Marathon

In February, we were off to Jacksonville, where we participated in one of our favorites, the Donna Marathon weekend. We ran there last year, but this year promised an all-new course for the half marathon, and with all the community support as we ran the 5K and the Half Marathon to complete the Booby Trap Challenge, we could not pass it up! The half and the full marathons have been redesigned to be flatter and faster, so we wanted to bring the changes to you! Plus, Jacksonville included some of the best food and drinks to celebrate our accomplishments last year, so we want to bring you more from around this awesome town. Even more importantly, we run this race to support a cause near to our hearts. We run to remember my husband’s mother, Clarice, who we lost to breast cancer, so running the race to finish breast cancer is very important to us. Crossing this finish line has a deeper meaning and it was an incredible race weekend to honor her memory.
