RED Episode #23: Tampa Beer Run Winter Edition

Last June, we launched our podcast, and the first run we ever featured was  the Tampa Beer Run.  A link to the first episode is hereTampa Beer Run  is not only special because it was our first, but because it benefits My Hope Chest, which helps those recovering from breast cancer with reconstructive surgery costs.  This was a great run in Al Lopez Park and with 4 different beer stops featuring samples from local Florida breweries and one from Georgia.  Don't forget about My Hope Chest’s upcoming GloWalk in April, too, which will be a great time running through the historic Tampa RiverWalk at night!

Datz is a great place to eat in the Tampa area, only blocks from Bayshore Boulevard, a beautiful stretch of sidewalk, maybe even the longest in Florida, where you can look out over the beautiful Tampa Bay and where we ran Gasparilla in February. Datz features classic comfort food with a twist, has a great brunch menu, and some creative cocktails as well as an outstanding beer list.

On the run, there were four beer stops featuring the following brews:

#1 Terrapin Hi 5 (IPA)

#2 Coppertail Unholy

#3 Motorworks Cruiser Kölsch

#4 Six Ten Tent Beer Lager

Our favorites were the Motorworks and the Six Ten.  We can’t wait to have them again.

At Datz we had a great cocktail featuring coffee and a powdered doughnut as a garnish!  Look for it on a Quick Bite in the coming weeks!

RED Episode #13: Superheroes Half Marathon at Disneyland

In this episode we run one of our all-time favorite races, the Superheroes Half Marathon at Disneyland in Anaheim California.

We run through all of the parks and get a look at the beautiful Paradise Pier in early morning.  Then we run the streets of Anaheim on the way to Angel Stadium.  We run through Angel Stadium and back to Disneyland where we cross the finish line to earn the Black Widow Half Marathon Medal and the Infinity Gauntlet Challenge Medal for completing both the 10K and Half this weekend.  While there are usually more sights to see in Angel Stadium, this was still a favorite and we are so happy we were there one last time.  Keep an eye out for fellow podcaster @RunEatRepeat!

Yes, we couldn’t help ourselves and went back to Sabroso but this time for their amazing Torta! That is a great sandwich!

We headed out to Manhattan Beach and to the MB Post to experience an original cocktail made by one of the bartenders there.  It is amazing and delicious!

RED Quick Bite #16 Hurricane Irma

This is a really short Quick Bite.  We are heading to a safe place in the wake of Hurricane Irma.  Hope everyone stays safe.

Originally, we were going to participate in the Fit Foodie Run this weekend in Clearwater, and we were so excited about it.  It has been rescheduled to December 9th due to the Hurricane, so we will have to wait a bit for the race that seemed to be themed just for us!

We hope everyone impacted by Hurricane Irma stays safe.  We can't wait to get back to filming the podcast and to accomplish, explore, and indulge along with you after this storm is over.
