RED Episode #28: Local Beer Collabs & Lazy Wings at Nice Guys 5th Anniversary

Hello, World!

Nice Guys Pizza is a place we have talked about and we have shot Quick Bites from on several occasions.  This week, they celebrate their 5th anniversary.  We are so honored and humbled to have been some of their first customers.  If you are ever in our hometown, you need to stop by this amazing hole-in-the-wall pizza place with delicious food (not just pizza), amazing cocktails, and tasty craft beer.  For the next several episodes, we will feature cocktails, beer, and outstanding food from this place that is so close to our hearts.

Greg and Jovana, the owners of this outstanding pizza joint, welcomed us, made us feel at home, and gave us support through some of the happiest, challenging, and emotional times in our lives.  This is like a second home to us.  To you, it may be the same thing.  Or we may be introducing you to this very special place.  Either way, everyone needs to experience the great food and terrific people who make up the Nice Guys Family.

This Quick Bite demonstrates the connections that Nice Guys Pizza has in the local craft beer community.    They collaborated with five local breweries to create special beers to tap for their anniversary.  By the time we air this episode, they may be gone, but they demonstrate how awesome the craft beer community is in Southwest Florida and how we can’t wait to feature them in an upcoming episode, even if we have featured them on previous ones, too.

The anniversary draft list includes:

Fort Myers Brewing Company Birthday Cake Porter

Point Ybel Brewing Company Pendennis the Menace

Bury Me Brewing Company DDH Nenzit Russian Imperial

Momentum Brewhouse Death Before Sour Mix

Big Top Brewing Company Unicorn Tears

And finally, in this Quick Bite, we feature the Lazy Wings.  Truly genius, these wings include a sauce that has everything you need, no sides or dipping sauces required.

Stay tuned throughout this week and next for Quick Bites as well as a full episode featuring great food and beverages from Nice Guys Pizza.  They mean so much to us that we can't help but celebrate them for an entire week of Quick Bites as well as on our episode featuring the Cape Cops 5k!

RED Quick Bite 20: Bury Me Brewing Creamation

After the Fort Myers Police Department’s Cops and Joggers 5K, we headed to Bury Me Brewing in Fort Myers to try a flight of their beers, and they did not disappoint.

On this quick bite, we feature a lighter and easy-drinking kind of beer called Creamation.  It has notes of honey and orange. If you are familiar with Orange Blossom Pilsner, think of those flavors.  Not super sweet, this is a sessionable beer you can have on a hot summer night or after completing a race for a great cause, like the FMPD Cops and Joggers race to benefit Fallen Officers Memorial Fund and Brotherhood Ride. Tryi it soon!
